Even though the final formula has not been decided on seat sharing with Congress in Uttar Pradesh for the Lok Sabha elections, an agreement has been reached between SP chief Akhilesh Yadav and RLD President Jayant Chaudhary. SP-RLD have decided to contest elections together in the state. Although, there has been no official announcement as to who will contest on how many seats and on which seats, but among the Lok Sabha seats on which RLD has planned to contest, most of the seats with Jat-Muslim equation are in Western UP.

RLD had sent its proposal to SP to contest elections on 8 seats in the state, which include Mathura, Hathras, Bijnor, Muzaffarnagar, Meerut, Baghpat, Amroha and Kairana seats. In the meeting held between Akhilesh and Jayant, it was agreed that out of these 8 seats, RLD will contest the elections on 7 seats, but on two seats, SP candidates will contest on the RLD symbol. SP has proposed to field Harendra Malik from Muzaffarnagar seat and Iqra Hasan from Kairana seat from Jayant Chaudhary’s party, while Akhilesh wants to contest Atul Pradhan from Meerut seat at any cost, and Jayant Chaudhary intends to field Manisha Ahlawat. Is of.

These 7 seats of Western UP are possible
However, who are those seven seats on which RLD will field its candidates? This has not been announced yet by both the parties, but most of the seats are from West UP. According to sources, RLD is certain to contest elections on Mathura, Baghpat, Amroha, Muzaffarnagar and Kairana seats. RLD will contest on one seat from Hathras and Fatehpur Sikri and also from Bijnor and Meerut.

Muzaffarnagar: Jat-Muslim decider
Muzaffarnagar Lok Sabha seat has been held by BJP since 2014 whereas before that BSP, SP and Congress had managed to win. Muzaffarnagar seat is considered Jat and Muslim dominated. Chaudhary Ajit Singh had contested his first and last Lok Sabha elections from Muzaffarnagar seat, but could not win and had to be defeated by the BJP candidate both the times. In Muzaffarnagar seat, there are more than 25 percent Muslim voters, 15 percent voters are from Jat community while 18 percent votes are from Dalits. In this way, Muslim and Jat voters together decide who will win and who will lose.

Sanjeev Baliyan is the MP on this seat, who belongs to the Jat community. The situation has changed since the assembly elections and SP-RLD have managed to win four out of five seats, due to which the position of the opposition alliance seems to be getting stronger.

Baghpat: Muslim voters in Jatland
Baghpat Lok Sabha seat in western UP falls in Jatland, where RLD was once dominant, but has been held by BJP since 2014. This has been the traditional seat of Chaudhary Charan Singh to Chaudhary Ajit Singh. BJP has been hoisting the flag of victory in Baghpat since 2014 and is trying to score a hat-trick in 2024, but Jayant Chaudhary is struggling to get his seat back by forming an alliance with SP. In Baghpat seat, Jat community is decisive, but Muslim and Gurjar voters are very important. Apart from this, Dalit voters play an important role in the victory of any party. It is believed that Jayant Chaudhary may make a bid to field his wife from the Baghpat seat in the 2024 elections.

BJP’s dominance in Krishna’s court
Mathura seat, the city of Lord Krishna, has been dominated by BJP since the 90s. Congress was successful in winning this seat in 2004 and RLD in 2009, but since then BJP is in control. Hema Malini is a two-time MP. RLD chief Jayant Choudhary’s political launch was from Mathura Lok Sabha seat and he reached Parliament after winning. In Mathura seat, maximum votes are from Jat community followed by Thakur and Brahmin voters. Muslim voters are also close to 16 percent, due to which RLD is trying to create Jat-Muslim equation. Jayant Chaudhary wants to use this formula again, for which he has formed an alliance with SP.

Bijnor-Muslim voters decide
BSP is currently in control of Bijnor Lok Sabha. This seat is considered to be dominated by Muslims, Jats, Dalits and Gurjars. Mayawati became MP for the first time by winning from this seat, but since then BSP won this seat in 2019. SP, RLD and BJP have been successful in registering election victory on this seat. RLD is working on the strategy of linking Gurjar votes with the Muslim-Jat equation on Bijnor seat, for which it is preparing to field MLA Chandan Chauhan, who comes from the Gurjar community.

Kairana: Muslim-Jat equation
Kairana Lok Sabha seat is held by BJP, but Muslim, Gurjar and Jat voters play a decisive role in this seat. On this seat, both BJP and opposition are trying their luck on Gurjars, but BJP is trying its luck on Hindu Gurjars while the opposition is trying its luck on Muslim Gurjars. No single party dominated the Kairana Lok Sabha seat. There is talk of SP’s Iqra Hasan contesting the elections from RLD. It is believed that Jayant Chaudhary can play a bet on Iqra Hasan to create Jat-Muslim equation, SP has left this seat under this formula. In this equation, RLD is seeing the possibility of its victory, but BJP is trying to maintain its dominance with the help of Hindutva.

Hathras: Jat-Dalit equation
Hathras Lok Sabha seat is reserved for Scheduled Caste. This seat is considered to be dominated by Jats, Dalits and Muslims. This seat has been continuously held by BJP since the 90s. In 2009, RLD had won this seat, but won in alliance with BJP. Jayant Chaudhary has to create Jat-Muslim and Dalit integration to win this seat again.

Due to which he has taken this seat in his quota. Although, he was also given the option of Fatehpur Sikri Lok Sabha seat, but Jayant Choudhary is not ready for that.

Amroha: Muslim-Jat dominated seats
RLD has selected Amroha seat of Western UP to contest elections in 2024. Akhilesh Yadav has agreed to give this seat to RLD, because Danish Ali had managed to win this seat as a BSP candidate in 2019. Mayawati has shown him the way out, so he is with Congress. Jat, Muslim and Gurjar voters play a decisive role in Amroha seat. More than 25 percent of the voters are Muslims, 13 percent are Jats and more than 10 percent are Gurjars. RLD was successful in winning this seat in 2004, but since then it has done many experiments but has not won. This time can RLD play Muslim bet on Amroha seat?
